Senior Planning Engineer, Video Technology for Broadcast and Media Systems (All genders)

Your mission

To strengthen our technical planning team, we are looking for an experienced Senior Planner or Specialist Planner with a focus on video technology. You will develop and integrate professional video systems for television facilities, broadcast trucks, and mobile production systems for broadcasting. Audio is an integral part of the overall systems; however, the technical focus of this position is clearly on video, signal distribution, monitoring, processing, and control.

• You will be responsible for developing and implementing project-specific video concepts for mobile and stationary broadcast and media systems.
• You will oversee multiple projects from requirements analysis and system design through detailed planning and coordination with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to commissioning and acceptance testing.
• You will plan complete video signal paths, including cameras, video mixers, production switchers, multiviewers, monitoring systems, recorders, graphics systems, and video and media servers
• You will develop solutions for traditional and IP-based video infrastructures, taking into account signal formats, bandwidths, latencies, redundancy, synchronization, control, and system monitoring
• You create system architectures, block diagrams, signal flow diagrams, equipment and cabling lists, and technical documentation
• You determine technical requirements, assist with material procurement and cost estimation, and keep track of project-related cost items
• You will assist with installation, be responsible for configuration, commissioning, testing, and acceptance of the planned video systems, and ensure their reliable operation within the overall system
• You will analyze technical faults, coordinate solutions with manufacturers and suppliers, and assist in optimizing existing systems
• You will train customers and users in the use of the installed video and media systems

Your profile

• You have technical training, a college degree, or a comparable qualification, for example in media technology, broadcast engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, or event technology.
• You have several years of experience in the planning, integration, or commissioning of professional video technology, ideally in the broadcast, production, studio, or OB van environment.
• You are familiar with the key components of professional video systems, including cameras, video mixers, production switchers, multiviewers, monitors, graphics systems, recorders, and video and media servers.
• You have a solid understanding of video signal formats and signal distribution. Knowledge of SDI, IP-based media networks, synchronization, and control protocols is a plus.
• You think across systems, recognize interdependencies between video, networking, control, power supply, mechanics, and cooling, and develop robust end-to-end solutions.
• You can document complex technical concepts clearly and coordinate them effectively with customers, partners, and internal project teams.
• You work in a structured and solution-oriented manner, take responsibility, and maintain a clear overview even during dynamic project phases.
• You have strong CAD skills and are proficient in standard MS Office applications.
• You have a very good command of German and English.
• You are willing to travel occasionally to support projects at client and partner sites or at various company locations. In exceptional project-related cases, you will also provide support outside of regular working hours.
