hi is made for the IP-world and works without abstractions or crutches, but by nature maps the topologies of the installations in control. Even the most complex facilities can be controlled and managed, and in hi unfold as neat structures. At IBC, the team will show ‘hi’s seamless integration with various SDN manufacturers such as EVS, Nevion or Imagine.
A further benefit of the control tool in ‘today’s budget-tensed productions is the licensing model of hi. hi enables a gradation of costs via the user license model. From small to large systems, the licensing adapts to the ‘users’ needs. The tool itself is as scalable as it’s licensing model. Users can easily start with a small system and adjust it to the growing business and to larger systems that manage more complex production environments.
You can see hi at the hi stand in hall 8, stand C77 or at several partner stands.

At Broadcast Solutions’ outdoor stand O.E02 we present the new Streamline S12T model. With over 45 units built and on the road, the Streamline concept is the world’s most successful OB Van series. The new S12T model is based on a 26-ton self-driving truck with a single expansion box-body buildup and is designed as a Streamline S12 variant without storage. The S12T works with up to 12 4K/UHD cameras based on 12G-SDI UHD Single Link and offers sufficient 3G-SDI Quad Link gateways for monitoring purposes.
With this new model, Broadcast Solutions once again makes use of innovative and future-driven technology combined with flexible workspace and room layouts. All decisions of the Broadcast Solutions team aim at maximising the use of space and resources within the vehicle, thus offering sufficient space for teams of up to 14 people working conveniently.
A further part of Broadcast Solutions‘ IBC presence is a newly designed Concept Van, that once again proves the system integrator’s mastery in developing highly flexible and innovative mobile solutions. The Van on display at their outdoor stand (0.E02) is a perfect example of a platform that easily can be tailored for different mobile production purposes and is based on a Mercedes Sprinter.
At the show Broadcast Solutions showcases it primarily as a wireless transmission hub vehicle powered by Silvus technologies IP Mesh radios. New to the outstanding wireless radios from Silvus is the new enhanced E-series of radios which will be on display.
At the outdoor stand 0.E02 we have at display an ENG Van, recently delivered to Belgian public broadcaster VRT.
The ENG is part of a large frame contract about seven vehicles delivered by Broadcast Solutions and VP Media Solutions as main contractor. The one shown at IBC is part of a final delivery of three identical news gathering vans, concluded earlier this year. The van is heavily used in the field for VRT’s news program VRT NWS to fulfil VRT’s approach to develop new news formats, fast, flexible and with the most innovative production tools. The ENG is based on a Mercedes V-class and Broadcast Solutions adapted it heavily to meet VRTs wishes in terms of broadcast technology, data transmission, interior design concepts and independent power supply solutions.
Broadcast Solutions acquired Videlio Middle-East to accelerate its operations in the Arab world and Africa. This new acquisition will merge with existing Broadcast Solutions operations in the Middle-East, led by Munzer Rushdi. With a team of a dozen professionals based out of Dubai Media City, Videlio Middle-East was set-up five years ago. It services UAE and GCC-based broadcasters, as well as provides Command and Control (C2) systems to corporate and enterprise clients such as ADCO, Total, Dassault Systems, Dubai Petroleum or Emirates NBD.
“Our goal is to expand our activities in the Middle-East and beyond into Africa”, explains Stefan Breder, CEO of Broadcast Solutions GmbH. “This acquisition dramatically increases our ability to service regional broadcasters and propose fixed installations and facilities in addition to our OB vans and mobile platforms.”
Access-point for used OB trucks is the company’s new website: used.broadcast-solutions.de. With the new service, the company uses its know-how and expertise in developing and building OB trucks for customers all around the world and offers expert advice and consultancy during the sales process of used OB Vans.
Within the new business unit, Broadcast Solutions acts as the agent mediating between the seller and prospective new customers of used OB trucks. Part of the service is, of course, refurbishments of the used OBs, depending on the overall condition and the needs of the buyer. The company will also use its technical expertise to advise of potential changes that could be possible and technology choices which may work for the new owner. Identifying necessary technical upgrades for the vehicles to be future-proof investments is a huge benefit for both parties, causing a frictionless sales process and adding more options for the use of certain vehicles.
