Broadcast Solutions brings two outside broadcast trucks to IBC - Intelligent use of space and simple management using hi human interface
Broadcast Solutions, one of Europe’s largest media systems integration groups, will bring two of its recently completed outside broadcast trucks to IBC2023 (15 – 18 September, RAI Amsterdam, outside exhibit area 0.A01). They are a large articulated truck custom built for SuperSport, and a recent fixed-chassis 12 camera unit based on the Broadcast Solutions Streamline family to be delivered to Remotion. The site will also see demonstrations of the innovative meshLINK wireless transmission system.

Broadcast Solutions builds huge new OB for Supersport - All-IP Ultra HD truck brings new production flexibility and power to South Africa
Broadcast Solutions, one of Europe’s largest media systems integration groups, has delivered a new outside broadcast truck, known as IP1, to Supersport. Thanks to South Africa’s traffic regulations, the new truck is probably one of the largest outside broadcast vehicle ever built: the trailer is 16 m long, 4.3 m high and 2.6 m wide while travelling, 5 m when expanded.

Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Systems have gained more momentum and continue their triumph. They are spreading across leagues, countries and sports worldwide, fulfilling the sport’s and viewer’s demand for more Fair Play and reliable decision-making during matches. A new member to these innovative associations is the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA). AFFA is now FIFA certified VAR system user, recently gaining the FIFAs approval with VAR systems delivered by German-based systems integration company Broadcast Solutions.

Swiss SRG relies on mobile and decentralised commentary control solution
Swiss public broadcaster SRG relies on a new, revised, decentralised Commentary Control Room solution, developed jointly by the Swiss broadcaster with Broadcast Solutions. The systems integration specialist Broadcast Solution realised the latest concept by incorporating the necessary technology and various connection possibilities into a compact vehicle. Equipped with a 4-wheel drive, air conditioning, UPS, cable drums and equipment, the new production tool, called COSMO, weighs less than 3.5 tonnes and offers a maximum of workflows and equipment in the smallest possible space.

Mobile Studio: Institute of Psychology at the German University of Bundeswehr in dialogue with experts
The Institute of Psychology at the University of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) in Munich is breaking new ground in its field research on the topics of conflict and communication by going where the people are to conduct video interviews - in pedestrian zones, on the street, in busy places. To be ideally equipped, the Institute, together with Broadcast Solutions, has designed a mobile studio, which has been handed over recently. The mobile studio was designed and implemented by systems integrator Broadcast Solutions.

Studio Berlin relies on Apantac KVM over IP system in new OB truck Ü10
Studio Berlin has set new standards in German outdoor TV production with its new 24-camera UHD/HDR OB van, which was recently put into operation. The vehicle not only impresses with its generous space planning and high-quality design, but also in terms of production workflows. Especially with regards to UHD/HDR productions many innovations have been incorporated into the Ü10, which can be attributed to Studio Berlin's many years of experience in this field.

Studio Berlin and Broadcast Solutions introduce new OB van concept with U10
Studio Berlin has added a new large UHD/HDR OB van to its fleet, U10, which has already been successfully used to broadcast the German Television Award (RTL). OB van U10 is designed as a trailer with two extensions (one over the entire length and one in the audio control room). With around 60 m2, the vehicle offers 26 workstations with people benefitting from a relaxed working atmosphere. U10 can handle productions with up to 24 UHD/HDR cameras, plus additional wireless cameras.

O2 Czech Republic ramps up its OB van fleet with a new Streamline S12T OB from Broadcast Solutions
The mobile network company O2 Czech Republic covers the country’s major soccer league for a couple of years now. With additional games and projects being on the table the company added a new Broadcast Solutions Streamline OB van to its fleet, complementing an existing model systems integrator Broadcast Solutions delivered a couple of years ago. The new OB van is a S12T from the Streamline OB van family (based on a truck chassis) and works with up to 12 cameras (HD). As was the case for the first OB Broadcast Solutions again cooperated with Slovak partners ELEKTRONIKA a.s. and IVC s.r.o. to build and deliver the Streamline S12T to the customer.

NEP Germany moves into air freight containers for production of the current Formula 1 season
Producing the Formula 1 for TV is, besides the production challenges as such, a logistical tour de force. Production equipment needs to travel around the world preceding the racing circus and must always be on-site and ready for use at the right time. To have an optimal and quickly operational solution at the race tracks, NEP Germany relies on a new container solution to transmit signals from the pit lane and for interviews alike.

Video Assistant Referee in Africa came of age at the recent CHAN in Cameroon
The 2020 African Nations Championship also known as the Championnat d'Afrique des Nations or CHAN was held from January 16 to February 7, 2021. This sixth edition of the biennial football tournament was organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and hosted by Cameroon. Morocco may have successfully defended their title, but the Cameroon Football Federation wrote a new page in the video assistant referee playbook.

New streaming setup for St. Eberhard's Cathedral Church in Stuttgart
Stuttgart's Catholics can now follow the services from the Cathedral Church of St. Eberhard online as a stream. To make this possible, Broadcast Solutions has installed a streaming setup in the cathedral. Currently, the City Deanery of Stuttgart is streaming the services on Facebook, and other events, such as "Talk am Dom", are also planned.

WDR is the biggest broadcaster in the German association of public broadcasters – ARD. The two vehicles are part of an overall package that includes a third video OB van.

Broadcast Solutions Delivers First UHD OB Van to St. Petersburg
The delivery of a 16 UHD-camera OB van to St. Petersburg broadcasting company City TV-Radio Agency JSC marks further success for Broadcast Solutions and brings innovative UHD technology to Russia. The OB is one of the first and largest UHD OB vans in the country and will serve the city’s own TV-channel “St. Petersburg” to produce large cultural or social events.

OB Van Rethought - WDR Breaks New Ground in Mobile Production with Ü3
Systems integrator Broadcast Solutions has built a new 6-camera television OB van, named Ü3, for German public broadcaster WDR. WDR is the biggest broadcaster in the German association of public broadcasters – ARD. The vehicle impresses with a compact design, a well-thought-out room concept, eight flexible workstations and focuses on flexible production approaches and novel interconnectivity and stagebox solutions. During planning and implementation, many considerations regarding the function and application of a TV OB van were realised in combination with two additional new radio OB vans, also manufactured by Broadcast Solutions for WDR.

Broadcast Solutions expands Streamline OB van footprint in Africa delivering new Streamline S12T series OB truck to Rwanda Broadcasting Agency
Broadcast Solutions GmbH has handed over the first model of a Streamline S12T OB, a new member of the Streamline family of OB vans, to a customer in Africa. Home-base of the new Streamline model is the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA). The Streamline S12T is designed as a truck/box body combination with one extension. Thanks to the perfectly fitting dimensions and thought-out room and workflow concepts, it offers space for up to 14 workplaces and can be operated with up to 12 cameras; a unique combination for OB vans of this size.

Full-IP OB Twins Usher in a New Era for Belgium’s RTBF
In early April 2020, RTBF, Belgium’s public broadcaster for the country’s French-speaking community, took delivery of the first of two groundbreaking, full-IP OB trucks. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the 12 m long trailer had to be configured remotely using TeamViewer, a few web cameras and microphones for confirmation purposes as well as via VPN in order to be delivered on time. The second identical OB truck, also built by Broadcast Solutions, will arrive in July.
